Kevin Turman takes Pines

After a tough Lake Texoma tournament and a cancelled Ray Roberts (due to high water levels) the North East Region set its sights on Lake of The Pines.  Pines did not disappoint as it produced fish for every angler regardless of the high water and changing weather patterns.  Kevin Turman a local angler decided to return from a two tournament hiatus to take the top spot with 19.60 lbs. pitchin’ an 8” worm up north past the second highway bridge.  The pending angler of the year Dan Phifer was less than a half pound way with 19.06 lbs. flippin’ in grass south of the Hwy 155 bridge, taking the second spot.  Coming in third was Jon Harsbarger with 16.80 lbs. anchored with a lbs. Jon was also flippin’ in grass south of the Hwy 155 bridge.  Thirteen of the eighteen anglers brought in a limit of bass.  Pines kicked out 73 bass for 194.42 lbs. with a 10.80 lbs. average per angler.  Big Fish went to Paul Pierce with an 8.12 lb. bucket mouth as many anglers brought in fish over 5 lbs. Dan Phifer (Century Bass Club) remains on top in the Angler of the Year race as David Rush (Denton County Bass Club) remains in second. Chad Hensley (Century Bass Club) also moved into 3rd place with a strong finish at the Pines. Century Bass Club continues to dominate in points for the Club of the Year, while Red Oak Bass Club (2nd) and Denton County Bass Club (3rd) hold steady.
