On March 16, 2014 the Texas B.A.S.S Nation hosted the Youth State Championship along with the first annual High School State Championship on Lake Amistad. Launch conditions were less than perfect with (30) mph winds blowing almost directly into the boat ramp. Tournament director Nick Carroccio made the decision to move the launch site from Diablo east to Rough Canyon due to difficult launching conditions. Out on the water fishing conditions continued to be difficult with many competitors finding shelter in draws and behind islands. Texas Bass Nation commends the efforts of all the anglers.
In the youth division, team Chris Beeson and Grayson Sanders took third place, the team of Cody Turner and Jacob Buruner took 2nd place, with the overall winning team Branson Dail and Jacob Wooters. Congratulations to our top three anglers in the youth division. In the first annual High School State Championship team Jack McAdams and Garrett Cutler took third place, the team of Joseph Bruener and Justin Tatum placing second, and the overall winning team was Jack Garner and Trace Bludwurth. Congratulations to the top three anglers in our high school division.
