TEXAS BASSMASTER TEAM TRAIL (TBTT) presented by TEXAS B.A.S.S. NATION announces 2015 Schedule

Texas B.A.S.S. Nation is excited to offer its membership another path to qualify for the BASSMASTER CLASSIC. Texas Team Championship Qualification is simple: Register and participate in one (1) of the Qualifier events and finish in the top 50% of that event, and your team is automatically qualified or register and participate in two (2) Qualifier events, and your team is automatically qualified for the Texas Team Championship. The Texas BASS Team Championship is a two-day event, where the highest finishing team will earn a berth to the BASSMASTER Team Championship Event, with a minimum of 20 team field. For each sequential 20 teams competing, 1 additional team will earn a berth as well. (20 teams = 1st Place to National event, 40 teams = 2nd Place to National event, 60 teams = 3rd Place to National event) The BASSMASTER Team Championship is an entry-fee based National two-day event, where the top three (3) teams advance to the BASSMASTER Team Classic Event, which will be held the same week, following the BASSMASTER Team Championship. BASSMASTER will provide six (6) boats, whereby each individual team member will then compete. There is no entry fee to the final Classic Event, and no Payouts. Tie On Your Umbrella Rigs

In October B.A.S.S. announced that it would increase umbrella rig restrictions on all qualifying tournaments that lead directly to the Bassmaster Classic (see article here). Immediately after hearing the news Texas B.A.S.S. Nation Regional Directors and Officers began having discussions concerning the use of umbrella rigs at tournaments operated by Texas B.A.S.S. Nation. Throughout these discussions it became clear that the Region Directors and Officers felt we should continue to allow the use of umbrella rigs at any Texas B.A.S.S. Nation tournaments. The last step was to contact B.A.S.S. and determine if this was a restriction that would flow down from the B.A.S.S. to each affiliated state. On the first of December we received notification from Jon Stewart – B.A.S.S. Nation Director that affiliated states could still allow the use of umbrella rigs. Texas B.A.S.S. Nation plans to allow umbrella rigs in all tournaments. While Texas B.A.S.S. Nation is allowing the use of umbrella rigs, it’s important for anglers to remember that umbrella rigs will not be allowed at any tournament operated by B.A.S.S. that leads directly to the Bassmaster Classic.
