Bassmasters’ Creed: I promise to create among my fellow anglers, and the public in general, an awareness of my Chapter’s and Society’s contributions to angling, conservation and outdoor recreation. I will encourage and instruct the youth of my community in the art of bass fishing. I pledge myself to full adherence to all conservation codes and to detect and report any polluter of our nation’s waters.

2019 State Championship Dates Set

Posted on January 19, 2019 Written by Brent Stafford

Texas B.A.S.S. Nation State Championship April 26-27, 2019.

Lake Belton is the site for the state championship tournament. The venue is the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (aka BLORA). Official practice days are April 24-25.

There are two lunching areas and plenty of parking. There is bank access for boats to use for the weigh-in.

Dinner will be served Thursday night at the larger pavilion.

Competitors are vying for 5 boater and 5 non-boater spots on the 2020 state team.

For this event, clubs may send every active Texas B.A.S.S. Nation member who joins B.A.S.S. Nation and Texas B.A.S.S. Nation by February 15, 2019. The entries will be due at a later date.

Clubs should submit even numbers of boaters/non-boaters. A Top-6-Club competition will be held simultaneously. The top 3 boater and top 3 non-boater weights will be used to score club standings with the top club winning $1,000.

A list of participants will be at the main gate and upon arrival, you will be given a pass to allow in-and-out privileges for the event. The entrance fee is being negotiated but expect a small fee. If you need more information about the venue, contact Randy Fleeman: 254-368-3429 triton21x0853@gmail.com

NAVICO/Lowrance Opportunity

Posted on January 15, 2019 Written by Brent Stafford

Presidents,

The attached note is from our friends at Navico/Lowrance. Please disseminate down through your ranks to anyone in your State B.A.S.S.

Nation that you think may be a good fit or interested. They can go to this link to apply. https://navico.com/prostaff-program

“Navico/Lowrance is looking to fill several vacancies we have in strategic geographical areas that are located near Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, and West Marine retail locations. These individuals would not need to commit a large amount of their time, just a few weekend days here and there. They would also be compensated for the time and experience with daily pay for time/meals/mileage, apparel, and substantial discounts on equipment.

Our most urgent need is for presenters to provide a 30-minute seminar at Bass Pros Shop’s Annual Spring Fishing Classic. They would be provided with a presentation (no need to prepare their own presentation) on the topic of “Benefits of Marine Electronics”. The seminar is on February 16th at 1:30 PM. I am needing to provide a final list at the end of the week.

The rest of the year is on a voluntary basis, based on the availability of the individual Pro Staff. The same compensation plan applies.

If interested, please go to https://navico.com/prostaff-program. For program questions, contact Steve Belanger at steven.belanger@navico.com.

ALSO, IF YOU HAVE SEEN THE NEW B.A.S.S. SLOGAN AND THE NICE VIDEO WE PRODUCED, PLEASE LIKE, SHARE AND ALL THAT SOCIAL MEDIA STUFF YOU DO WITH IT. WE WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

IT’S PRETTY COOL! Have a great afternoon!

North West Region Kicks Off on Lake Buchanan

Posted on January 14, 2019 Written by Brent Stafford

The newly formed North West Region will hold its first event of 2019 on Lake Buchanan, Saturday February 9th. Tournament hours will be from safe light to 4:00 pm. The official practice day will be Friday, February 8th. Anglers are allowed on the water at safe light and must be off the water by sundown on the official practice day. Off limits will be observed from sundown Sunday prior to the tournament until Friday at safe light. Official rules can be found on the Texas BASS Nation website under North West Region.

We will be launching at Llano County Park – Blackrock ramp off of Ranch Road 261. Due to the location of the lake there will be no specific headquarters. Llano, Burnet, and Kingsland are all within 15 miles of the lake leaving anglers with plenty of choices on where to stay.

Registration will be at the Blackrock ramp from 3:00-5:00 pm on Friday and from 6:00-7:00 am the morning of the tournament. Entry fee is $75 which includes Big Bass (make checks out to Texas BASS Nation North West Region). I will be staying in Llano and eating at Cooper’s Pit Bar-BQue on Friday night if anyone wants to join me!

Please give me a call at 940-550-5638 or shoot me an email me at khudson@texasbass.org if you have any questions. See you at the lake!
