The Northwest Region of the Texas BASS Nation held two separate one-day tournaments on Possum Kingdom Lake, March 12^th & 13^th.

Tournament #1 started with air temps in the low 20’s making it tough on the fisherman. Kelley Hudson used his home lake advantage to take the win bringing in a 5-fish limit weighing 18.12 lbs.

Tom Enloe took 2^nd place with 5 fish weighing 13.25 lbs.

New member Freddy De La Paz took 3^rd place with 11.25 lbs. Freddy also had Big Bass of the day with a beautiful 8.18 lb largemouth.

Tournament #2 brought warmer air temps but winds in the 20 mph range.

New member Jacob Sepeda took first place with a 5-fish limit weighing 14.90 lbs. Jacob also had Big Bass of the day with a 5.05 lb chunk.

Troy Montgomery took 2^nd place with a limit weighing 10.23 lbs.

Floyd Kaerwer came in 3^rd with 4 fish weighing 8.86 lbs.

The next two NW Region events will be on the hottest bass lake in the country, O.H. Ivie, April 23^rd & 24^th.

The Northwest Region held its 2021 Regional Championship on O.H. Ivie reservoir October 16 & 17. The lake was fishing tough after a 300-boat tournament the weekend prior and a strong front moving through just before the start of our tournament. All anglers caught fish but just not the size and numbers we are used to seeing on this awesome fishery.

Wendell Ramsey took 1^st place in the boater division with a 2-day total of 24.12 lbs. Grayson Morrow was a close 2^nd with 23.57 lbs. and Mike Pruitt came in 3^rd with 12.20 lbs.

On the non-boater side, Lewis Decker took the win with 10.19 lbs. including a nice 4.96 lb. largemouth for Big Bass of the tournament. Glenn Hahn was 2^nd with 9.89 lbs. and Blair Cobble was 3^rd with 9.70.

Congratulations to Wendell and Lewis who will take their place on the Texas State Team and compete at the 2022 Texas BASS Nation Central Regional on Grand Lake in Oklahoma.

The Northwest Region of the Texas BASS Nation held its final regional event of the year on June 5^th at lake E.V. Spence. The weather was great with light winds and plenty of sunshine. The lake level was on the rise after some much needed rain and came up about 18” during official practice and tournament day.

The fish were also cooperating with the majority of anglers bringing in 5 fish limits. David Zak brought in the heavy limit of the tournament weighing-in 23.15 lbs to take the win. Kelley Hudson took 2^nd place with 21.95 lbs followed closely by Ryan McCorkle with 21.28 lbs for 3^rd place. Kevin Weekes had big bass of the tournament with a nice 7.32 lb largemouth. Most anglers were flipping plastics in the stick ups and bushes.

The Northwest Region will hold its regional championship on O.H. Ivie in the Fall. We will be taking the top twenty anglers in the point standings after their 2 lowest tournaments are dropped. Look for the Final Point Standings (lows dropped) on the state website.

I want to thank all the anglers who came out and supported the region this year. We made some great memories!
